How to Select a High-speed Grease
High-speed applications like fans, blowers and pillow-block bearings often use the wrong lubricant, especially when they involve greased components. These high-speed applications also tend to run hotter, which causes the lubricant and the component to break down quicker. Watch this video to learn how you can control this excess heat by selecting the proper high-speed grease.

Get the Ultrasound Lubrication Handbook
How do you know when a bearing needs grease or how much? How can you be sure you are applying the right amount of grease? Lubrication of bearings is one of the most misunderstood maintenance tasks. Get the ultrasound lubrication handbook and Hear More.

Use Oil Top-up Containers with Care
The best oil top-up containers should be used with care. Container nozzles with O-rings can keep dirt from getting inside the container, but any oil left on the outside of the nozzle tip after use will collect airborne contaminants. We teach our operators to close the nozzles after use and to wipe them clean. Otherwise, dirt on the outside of the nozzle will be carried into the equipment in the stream of oil being dispensed. Pros and Cons of Oil Additives
The question of whether to add additives to finished oil products has been debated for decades. Comprehensive testing has been performed to support claims on both sides. One truth that has been proven is that if quality high-performance lubricants are selected in the beginning, further additization will provide very little, if any, benefit.

Make Sure Your Additives Are Helpful, Not Destructive
Additives are essential, but you have to know what you are doing. One liter of dispersant in engine oil is enough to destroy the demulsifier in 6,000 liters of turbine oil. ML I will help you avoid these and other mistakes.

Choosing the Right Compressor Lubricant
From "Compressors: How to Achieve High Reliability & Availability":

As is so often the case, only a thorough experience check will give assurance of selecting the optimum cylinder lubricant. The cheapest lube is almost never the best from a cost-of-ownership point of view. Protecting your assets is worth far more than the incremental cost of superior lubricants over the "conventional wisdom oil."
